It could be their favourite band coming to town, a theatre show or a new restaurant. Think about how you can incorporate this into a gift. The event doesn’t have to happen in December or January. You could buy a ticket for it for any time in 2019. They’ll love having something to look forward to.

Did they do something special this year?
How was 2018 big for them? Did they go on a big trip, graduate university, land a new job or get married? If so, why not make a frame or something creative, celebrating it? If you can’t think of anything, you could get them a gift about something they’ve got planned for the following year. Think about the small moments. For example, your friend might have spoken about getting fit. Why not buy them a gym bag or Fitbit?
